The vast grasslands of the Tibetan plateau gave birth to herding songs, work songs and love songs: melodically expansive, emotionally direct, and intimately tied to landscape and livelihood. Tsering's documentation work — including all scores for the Chinese Folk Song Collection · Gansu Province · Tibetan Volume — preserves hundreds of them.
